🦠 Viruses are teeny tiny invisible bits of genetic material wrapped in a protein shell.⁣

🌌 They are believed to have played a role in evolution. ⁣

⚖️ Viruses are neither dead nor alive, they must infect a living cell to replicate and survive!⁣

❌ Not all viruses are deadly, in fact, some can be engineered to be beneficial in a medical setting such as cancer therapy. ⁣

🧫 Bacteria and viruses are two very different things… keep an eye out for future posts to discuss!⁣

🦇 Viruses infect all manner of living things. Although not all viruses infect all species. SARS-CoV-2 is an example of a virus existing in one species before jumping to another.

See our blog post for more info on the origins of SARS-CoV-2 here and how viruses emerge here and all about bats and viruses here.
